There have been some phenomenal weddings so far this year, its testament to the couples i am fortunate to work with, the wedding suppliers they choose and the weather that has graced each day. Saturday's wedding for Catherine & Mark, two astoundingly kind and down to earth people, was one i won't forget!
Set within the fields and Vineyard of English Oak Vineyard in Lychett Matravers, they had made every effort to cover all the bases of an awesome wedding. From employing the services of the delightful Polly at Blue Bay Events, to coordinate the day, to the acquisition of The Cocktail Car (a VW Camper beautifully converted into a cocktail bar) they had everything their guests could need.
The opening part of the day, the bridal prep, was started at Blu Hairdressers in Canford Cliffs. They did a fantastic job with everyone's hair and they were super nice to boot! From there they finished preparations at the Brides parent's house, whilst i popped over to see how the boys were getting on at The Plantation (also in Canford Cliffs).
At a glance, i'd say nerves were ever increasing throughout the morning, which is something i like to see. It shows it means something. It matters and it isn't being taken lightly. Ultimately, its the quivering excitement of unity that gives people that glint in their eyes. Love, pretty potent stuff!
The ceremony itself was held at All Saints Church, which is a lovely, well lit church not far from all the prep. The vicar, accompanied by a choir and a barbershop quartet, ran the service superbly; with grace and humour in equal measure. The Bride and Groom were clearly moved and so happy to have made such a bond.
The whole day was coordinated by Polly Smith of Blue Bay Events and i must say she was superb throughout. From assisting with setup the day before through to getting people where they needed to be on time, she was faultless and hugely beneficial to the running of such a busy day.
With Cocktails, Doughnuts, Hot Dogs, Photo Booth, garden games, a saxophonist and a stupendously good 11-piece band, the guests were treated to a unique wedding experience that i hope they thoroughly enjoyed - some of them had come from as far afield as Australia and New York!!
I'd like to say thank you to Catherine, Mark, their families and friends for being such a joy to spend time with. For being so uplifting, easy to talk to and wonderful to photograph. And to the ushers, who set the bar pretty high for ushering!!
I hope the photos bring back happy memories for many years to come -
