I'm fortunate enough to work at some lovely venues close to home, many of which i can visit on numerous occasions throughout the year. Sopley Mill in Dorset is one such venue. However, each time i visit it i am reminded that it is the people who make the wedding what it is, not just the location. Each time i go there it's different by virtue of the beautiful people invited along for the celebrations.
Karly & Steve are a delightfully sweet couple - unassuming, totally in love and welcoming. Spending time with them on their wedding day felt totally natural, like spending the day with good friends and seeing them get married. Their guests were a huge part of this ambience, as they were immediately engaging, funny and friendly. A room full of bridesmaids has never felt so much like home!
The wedding took place amidst a period of bad weather (in England?? Shock horror!!) and i think all Karly hoped for was a nice sunset... to my amazement, she got what she wished for. Sometimes those little hopes inside us manifest themselves just as one dreams, as if someone is able to bless you with the flick of a switch.
Ultimately this peaceful, pleasant and phenomenally timed day was the reward for the good nature of those being married, a nod to the happiness they deserve in their lives together. I hope that for years to come, their wedding day will be a positively happy point of reflection. A day upon which to recalibrate the compass once in a while. It was a genuine pleasure to be there, to witness it all and to hear some of the funniest one liners i've ever heard from an excited group of Bridesmaids.
For having me capture their special day i am eternally grateful.
Thanks for stopping by,
