As a wedding photographer i get to visit some staggeringly beautiful locations - Felicity and Henry's wedding at Wimborne St Giles House was certainly no exception.
The 12th Earl of Shaftesbury has made a tremendous effort of revitalising the main house and surrounding outbuildings, i've got to say it's a credit to him and his staff.
Having visited the Bride's family home, a gorgeous Farmhouse in the depths of the Dorset countryside, I then made the journey to St John's church in Bere Regis. As i understand it, there are echoes of family ties between that particular church and the families involved, which i think adds the history of the day, to be part of a greater line of happy people through those doors.
From there we all made our way to St Giles House for welcome drinks in the opulent reception rooms, surrounded by carefully restored and well presented decor. Pockets of sunshine enabled the guests to enjoy the well tended gardens, whilst the Bride, Groom and I went for a jaunt around the grounds. As a backdrop it is certainly up there with the finest. Guests were treated to the delicate sound of the harp, whilst traditional English cakes were offered.
The delicious wedding breakfast was served in a marquee set within the grounds and the guests found themselves entertained by 'Britain's Got Talent' finalist David Penn, a fabulous magician, whilst they popped champagne... over everything. Although the odd drop of rain made an appearance throughout the day we were met by a warm, glowing sunset, before the guests were serenaded into the evening by a great band from playing a huge variety of 'tuuunes'.
It was, in all honesty, a delight to be a part of.
I wish Felicity and Henry every happiness in their lives' together.
