It has to be said that Oli & Gemma went all out on their wedding day, making sure that it really was a day you wouldn't forget.
Now, i hadn't seen Oli since high school, some 14/15 years ago - so it was a real pleasure to meet up with him again and to be introduced to his wonderful fiancee (now Wife - YEY!), Gemma. It's a recurring and fabulous part of my work, getting to reacquaint myself with people i went to school with - its comforting to know that they've gotten through life in one way or another, to find their special someone.
So with the i do's all booked in at Hinton Church Near Christchurch, they decided to book the Captain's Club Spa and Hotel for their reception. You know, after 130+ weddings, i'm still amazed at how many more, uncharted venues there are out there - this was my first wedding at this venue - it's a great location and venue!
Having spent a while with the bridal party at home in the morning, i made my way to The Captains Club and joined the guests on the old London bus to go to the church. Again, it's a church i hadn't had the pleasure of working at and it's a little beauty.
After a wonderful and emotional ceremony, and whilst the guests returned to the Captain's Club, the Bride, Groom and i hopped on to a boat at Christchurch Quay to go to the venue. It definitely a relaxed and recommended way to arrive - a perk of having your wedding at this particular venue.
As the afternoon celebrations continued in the blissful sunshine, it was great to talk to some of the guests and to discover just how loved this special couple are. It's a heartwarming thing, to hear people speak so highly of others.
Once the wedding breakfast had been eaten, the cake cut and the first dance... danced, there was a final flurry - a fireworks display. It capped off a brilliant day in quite some style and i thoroughly hope everyone there enjoyed themselves and the whole occasion.
It was a true joy to be there and to capture it for such delightful people. To Oli & Gemma, my love and sincere best wishes for the journey ahead - may it be full of Love.
