I've been spoilt. I've had a run of ideal wedding clients that has been too good to be true. Kat & Toby are one such phenomenally fun couple, who came to me with a view to capturing their wedding day.
They decided that the venue should reflect their relaxed approach and provide a beautiful backdrop and plenty of space for their guests to enjoy. They chose the very same place my wife and i held our wedding reception - The Langton Arms, Tarrant Monkton.
It's such a gorgeous little village and the ideal place to get everyone away from the rat race for the day, to focus and enjoy the occasion to the full.
Kat & Toby chose the church adjacent to the Langton Arms in which to wed - which, whilst being a delightful little church, gave everyone the chance to relax upon arrival.
The emotion of the ceremony, as is often the case, took the Bride (and i suspect, the groom) by surprise a little. I think it's lovely to see a bit of emotion on days such as these. In a nutshell, the day is born out of emotions, so it's only fitting.
After the 'I do's' guests were treated to drinks and nibbles in the gardens before being seated for the well-delivered speeches and beautifully cooked food. An ingenious way of displaying the seating plan and card box was put into practise, balanced upon car jacks and pallets, with a tool box acting as the post box - a reference to Toby's occupation, Mechanic (in case you wondered why there were spanners and ratchets with the rings).
It was a total triumph, and i hope both the bride and groom feel that it went as they had hoped. Everyone certainly enjoyed every minute.
My thanks to them all for their time throughout the group shots and for being so kind to work around.
Here's to the years of love that lie in wait for this cracking couple!
