2017 was a crazy year. Crazy-good of course.
Unfortunately we didn't manage to have a holiday together or indeed any quality family time together, throughout what was my busiest wedding season to date. Don't get me wrong, its a blessing to be busy, to do what i do, but it's also important to try and achieve that 'work-life balance'.
This year i've made sure there is plenty of time for us to enjoy our lives, whilst still focussing on improving my business and the images i capture. Finding that balance is fantastic and has been a welcome mix of photoshoots and life experiences.
We have a mantra in our household. Where possible 'Buy memories, not things'. Of course thats easier said than done, but it can be achieved. With that in mind we thought we would treat ourselves and our daughter (for her birthday) to a week-long New York holiday.
Now, for those of you who haven't been, it's nuts. Loud, busy, humungous, incredible and great fun in equal measure. It's not really a 'kid city'. So with some nerves as to how our 7 year old would embrace it, we set off from Gatwick to the Vast Apple.
It. Was. Awesome. From skating in the snow in Central Park, to visiting the usual landmarks we had a blast. I was surprised and delighted to see our daughter enjoy everywhere we went. Broadly speaking the people are a delight, always welcoming and happy to hear a British accent.
Wherever we go my wife has the patience of a saint as i bimble about blithely taking photographs and filming - however it was kept to a minimum on this visit.
I could witter on about where we went and what we did, i guess thats the point of a written post (duh), but i think the photos show quite enough.
I hope you enjoy some of our holiday snaps!
