I have never seen a Bride smile so much, nor have i met such a laid back Groom as Nicola & Law; who got married at the weekend in Christchurch.
I mean, don't get me wrong, wedding days are an abundance of smiles, laughs, nervous giggles and happy-vibes... but these guys were on point with the most smiley and relaxed approach to a wedding day i've witnessed to date - That's against some pretty stiff competition!
Similarly, the bridesmaids wore beautiful smiles all day and were a real pleasure to be around, as were all the guests. This is a big part of the day for me, as it really helps to get natural shots if people are at ease and don't feel under pressure to smile on command.
The Bride and Groom decided from the outset that they wanted to relax and enjoy their day, from start to finish. No stress, just the good stuff. I think i speak on behalf of everyone there when i say they got it just right.
The Bridal party prepared themselves in the gorgeous rooms at The Kings Arms Hotel, and they tied the knot in the characterful pavilion on the green opposite the hotel. Perfect! No travelling for them or their guests, all walkable (with the inclusion of a 'Caution: Bride Crossing' Lollypop sign, to cross from the hotel to the ceremony).
In my line of work i hear a lot of speeches, most of which are very good it has to be said, so it was great to hear awesome speeches by The Groom, the Father of the Bride, the Best Man and the Sister of the Bride - all well executed, well-timed and funny for everyone.
I hope, looking back many years from now, Nicola and Law remember their wedding day with the fondest memories and I wish them every happiness along the way. I thank them for choosing me to capture their special day.
