Pete & Amy are a fabulous couple, very comfortable to spend time with, very funny and ultimately in love. So that was a good start. It makes it an enticing prospect when the people you work with are so much fun to be around and when they've chosen a venue as versatile as The Haven Hotel, Sandbanks.
Near the water there are so many different options for photos - from the venue itself to the waters edge or using the distant coastline as a backdrop. Each time of day offers a different light quality that can completely change a photo.
We were fortunate that the sunset that evening, was beautiful; a gentle roll of colours over Brownsea Island on the horizon.
Pete & Amy decided to hold the entire day at The Haven and for good reason - it saves on a lot of stressful travel time ands it enables people to relax sooner in the day - basking in the comfortable surroundings the Hotel has to offer.
Amy employed the services of the fabulous 'Amazing Face' team who have the tremendous talent of turning already stunning people into subtly beautiful brides and bridesmaids - their work is consistently high and everyone thought Amy looked phenomenal!!
The ceremony, held in the hotel, was well delivered with confident readings and a little more visible emotion than i thought might boil over (i love to see a few happy tears, nowt wrong with that!). From there everyone was ushered into the lovely bar and balcony area, overlooking the sea and the boats passing Studland beach opposite. The bride, groom and i went for a quick bimble on the beach before we were all treated to a 2 hour Ferry ride around the harbour.
It was a fantastic and inspired decision to have this as part of their day. It was perfectly sunny and the ideal time to be out on the water, taking in this beautiful place we live.
From then on the day flowed very well - with all the speeches being delivered well, the food was delicious and the venue just worked.
Into the evening the guests were entertained with a Photo Booth, casual chin wagging and one of the best DJ's i've come across. It's very rare that a DJ will stand out (in fact there's only been one that could wholeheartedly recommend) but Adam from Primo Parties was brilliant. He delivered the tunes people wanted to hear, well blended together and he even considered me when delivering the lighting for the first dance. Cheers Adam!
It was great to stay that bit longer into the evening, so as to take some more shots at sunset with the Bride & Groom. It was the last quiet moment of a phenomenal day.
I wish Pete & Amy every happiness in the world, your zest for life, your mutual respect and your awesome sense of humour will steer you through some good times ahead, I'm sure.
