Sophie & Lawrence - Shillingstone House Wedding, Dorset - Summer 2021
This wedding has to be a highlight of my wedding photography career to date - it just felt right and it had exactly the right, perfectly weighted elements in place throughout the day... plus, the weather played ball which helped!
Shillingstone House host only a handful of weddings each year, so it's great to be able to photograph a wedding there any time - it's a gorgeous private home with lovingly tended gardens, a photographers dream on pretty much any day. The hosts are a delight to work with too, the house being their family home for generations.
I've known Sophie for a number of years, more to say hello to than anything else, but it was a real honour to capture her wedding as i've known her parents for longer and in a greater capacity as they run Sorrels caterers... who, funnily enough, catered for their daughters celebrations! The food was awesome too - they come highly recommended.
Prior to the arrival at Shillingstone House, Sophie & Lawrence married in Wimborne Minster - a ceremony that saw a continuation of the trend of kick ass vicars who were so on the ball this year. Their carriages to the reception were none other than a classic Aston Martin and a Roles Royce, both of which worked beautifully with the colour scheme of the day and the properties we attended.
It's not something i would usually highlight, but Sophie's dress was absolutely stunning, purchased with the help of Minster Bridal Boutique (Also in Wimborne) and the flowers were also incredible (props to Dorset Flowers for some phenomenal work!!)
I could witter on about this day for quite some time, but lets face it, the pictures tell the story.
