Crowcombe Court was a new venue for me in 2023. It's always great to visit new places, meet new staff and (most importantly) have a new injection of creativity. It is a striking building nestled in the hills of Somerset, offering multiple spaces in which to host a wedding. On this day, the hottest day in t he world, ever, it was a relief to have so many beautiful places to keep in shade, keep comfortable and also make the most of the rich, summer sunset. I loved it.
I met Lauren & Shaun at a wedding and, after their photographer went out of business, they called on me to cover their wedding. I'm so grateful they did. They are a painfully good looking couple (especially coming from someone who has a face like a potato). Therefore, they are easy to photograph because their version of a 'resting b*tch face' is more appealing than my 'I look 10/10' face.
Not only that but they chose to wear the coolest dress and suit - each complimenting the other. I LOVE it when I see a uniques bridal gown - something that is an expression of the Bride's 'vibe'. The whole day was super chilled, featuring archery and good food.
Who knew that shooting arrows was a good thing to get partially p*ssed guests to do?!
The evening greeted us with a gorgeous sunset over the hills towards the venue. A very happy moment in my year and a beautiful final salute to brilliant day.
