Situated only minutes from the beach, Highcliffe Castle hosted Lil & Ozz's wedding day - a vibrant and vivacious celebration of two incredible people. Let's get this out there. I love Lil & Ozz. They are just so sweet, so kind and so relaxed in everything they do. They met when they were both teaching, often leaving post-it notes for each other. Since then, they have made a home, a beautiful child and a marriage.
Whilst the weather on their wedding day was indicative of a tremendously damp year, it didn't really impact any part of the proceedings. That's rare. Instead, we worked with it. Using any available lull in the downpour to get outside, or simply embracing it head-on. You live once, after all.
They both looked stunning, in black tie and bridal gown, floating through each room and engaging with their guests. Their genuine love for one another is ever present in their demeanour. It's joyful to capture in film or photo. They chose to have me capture both, which I always find to be a full days work and my happiest place. There's nothing worse than shooting somewhere and thinking 'ahh, this would be great as a film'.
As always, the staff at the venue were brilliant to deal with. They're an amiable bunch and I'd encourage you to visit the castle whenever you are near. Have a coffee, walk to the beach. Speaking of which, we did have a break in the clouds at the end of the day, just in time for some time by the sea and for a fire thrower to show up and perform for the guests (a gift from a family member).
It was an effortless day. Everything just worked and gelled together perfectly. Much like Lil & Ozz.
I wish them, their family and friends, the happiest of futures.
